Tips & Tricks
💡 Protect Your Page
Always place a protective sheet beneath your colouring page before you begin. A piece of cardstock or a few sheets of regular printing paper works perfectly.
Why?
📑 When coloring with markers: Marker ink behaves dynamically, a loose sheet of thicker cardstock paper behind the page will safely catch any natural bleed-through.
✏️ When coloring with pencils: If you are pressing hard with colored pencils or other coloring materials, a protective sheet underneath your page prevents you from creating deep indents that will show through like a relief on the next illustration!
🖍️ Recommended Coloring Materials:
🎨 Alcohol-based markers are an absolute favourite ❤️ They glide smoothly across the page, blend effortlessly, and leave a beautifully even finish with no visible strokes. Perfect for filling large areas with rich, seamless colour.
🖊️ Fine-liners are wonderful for adding fine accents and detail work, and a white gel pen can create stunning gloss effects that make your illustrations truly pop. Water-based markers and colored pencils are also a great choice, offering a softer, more textured look.
🙉 Thick paint or watercolours of any kind are not recommended, as they may cause the paper to warp.
